European Football Kick-off Times in Bangladesh Time (BST)
Football fans in Bangladesh follow European leagues late into the night. Because Europe changes its clocks twice a year and Bangladesh does not, the same kick-off can move by an hour in Dhaka. This guide explains the conversion.
The basics
- Bangladesh Standard Time is UTC+6 all year round. There is no daylight saving time.
- The United Kingdom uses GMT (UTC+0) in winter and British Summer Time (UTC+1) in summer.
- Spain, Italy, Germany and France use Central European Time (UTC+1) in winter and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) in summer.
- Europe moves clocks forward on the last Sunday of March and back on the last Sunday of October.
So Bangladesh is 6 hours ahead of the UK in winter and 5 hours ahead in summer, and 5 hours ahead of central Europe in winter and 4 hours ahead in summer.

Champions League nights
Most Champions League matches kick off at 21:00 Central European Time, which is 2:00 am in Bangladesh during the European winter and 1:00 am in the European summer. Early matches at 18:45 CET start just before midnight in Dhaka. On Wednesday mornings many Bangladeshi fans check the results first thing. Learn how the competition works in our Champions League format guide.
Watch out for the dates
Late-night matches start on the next calendar day in Bangladesh. A Tuesday evening match in Europe is played on Wednesday morning Bangladesh time. When you browse fixtures, make sure you are looking at the right date.
The clock-change weeks
In the week after the last Sunday of October, European matches suddenly start an hour later in Bangladesh. In the week after the last Sunday of March, they start an hour earlier. Fans who set reminders by habit often miss the first hour change of the season.
Let EHScore do the maths
EHScore shows every kick-off in your device's own time zone, so if your phone is set to Bangladesh time, the times on the home page are already in BST, and the date tabs group late-night matches on the correct Bangladesh date. The EHScore Android app can also send reminders, so you do not need to stay awake checking.
Other regions
South American leagues often kick off in the evening local time, which means early-morning matches in Bangladesh, while matches in Japan, Korea and Australia are played during the Bangladeshi afternoon or evening. AFC club competitions and Indian Super League matches are usually the most convenient for Bangladeshi viewers.
